Dr Marm never without my Nikon!

About

Fell in love with the art of photography a little later in life than many! But I am so hooked!

Began my digital quest with Nikon in 2000, with a point and shoot. Eventually graduated to DSLR with a D40x, then D60, and currently the D300s. Have a hunch it will not be my last camera! Have been drooling over fullframe ever since I rented the D700–what an amazing camera. Waiting for next generation of Nikon fullframe…meanwhile am learning something new all the time. Astounded and in awe by many photographers I follow on Twitter.

One of my treasured lenses is my Lensbaby Composer. Current favorite optic is the Soft Focus, fun to use with flowers in spring!

Currently working on a Professional Photography course through New York Institute of Photography. Enjoyable and learning all the time:)

  1. It’s addictive huh! You only learn by taking photos so keep snapping. Look forward to seeing your progress!

  7. DrMarm, I need your advice. My Minolta-Konica Dimage Z6 does macro to .4″ but not with the sharpness I would like. It is
    only 6mp. Is that my problem ? I’ve bee thinking about Nikon’s D3200 with 24pix for $600 (It’s a DSLR). But Target has a
Nikon cool pix S4200 (point and shoot) with 16mp for $79.99. What do YOU think ?

    • How much do you want to spend short term and long term? The D3200 is a great camera. You still would need a macro lens for true macro. Otherwise, you could crop with 24 MP and sill have the appearance of macro.

      Best wishes!
